Whether you’re looking for something natural, urban, or a little more classic, there are so many great spots around the Kansas City area. This guide includes some of my favorite locations that photograph beautifully and work well for different types of sessions. If you have another location in mind, I’m always open to new ideas!

Stunning locations

Unity village

Unity Village offers beautiful architecture, gardens, and open spaces that photograph incredibly well. The arches, pathways, and greenery create a timeless and elegant look that works beautifully for senior, couple, and portrait sessions.

Open fields

Open fields create a soft, natural look with tall grass, wildflowers, and warm sunset light. These locations are especially beautiful during golden hour and are perfect for a relaxed, dreamy style of photos.

Nelson adkin

This area offers two great looks in one session. The Nelson-Atkins provides classic architecture and open lawns for a timeless feel, while nearby downtown locations add an urban vibe with brick buildings, city streets, and modern textures.

THE EXPERIENCE

WHAT TO EXPECT

Sessions with me are relaxed, a little upbeat, and not overly posed. You don’t need to worry about doing everything “right”—I’m there to keep things flowing and make sure you feel comfortable the whole time. The goal is for it to feel easy and actually enjoyable, not like something you have to get through.

SESSION GUIDE

I’m not going to just stand there and say “smile.” I’ll guide you with real direction—where to stand, what to do with your hands, how to move—so you’re never guessing. I’ll adjust things as we go and pay attention to the small details so your photos look natural but still put-together.

PLANNING YOUR SESSION

Before your session, we’ll go over the details that make the biggest difference—outfits, location, and timing. If you’re deciding between looks, send them to me and I’ll help you choose what photographs best. I’ll also recommend timing based on lighting so you get that soft, clean look without having to think too much about it.
